Design of a knights armour with lots of scales and twists. I absolutely love how it came out, especially the shoulder plate and the hair. :)

The design is loosely based on WoW armoury, no references used.

Tools: scetched with 0.35 pt pencil, inked with 0.1 pt and 0.05 pt ink pen

Took me something about 20 hours from first stroke to finished picture.

Und Dankeschön!

Some talent here you have, I absolutalty love the details, it looks rather realistic. I can very well understand the fun you must have had in this and foremost that it took you a long time to make it look like this. And wow, amazing.

I still try to remember how I did that thing, but I can't remember much more besides "just a little bit more here... and there... and there... and here...." :D

Holy brass scales, marianus! You can do armour! I really dig the braded hair and feathers.

I do love this, especially the contrast between the simple way you drew the face, and then the detail you put into the armor, it makes it obvious what is important in this drawing. God and the chainmail! That must have taken years! Although, the armor itself looks a little impractical as since the visor is attached to the collar, the wearer would not be able to turn their head. However, it is still friggin' awesome.

Thank you very much for your comment. I'm always glad to receive comments with some critics :)

I thought long about filling the face completely but I so suck at crisscrossing faces that I decided to leave it white. After I finished the picture I figured out what you said, that in this way the armour is the important thing.

For the chainmail: it was kind of the easiest thing of the whole armour. I used a trick I saw in one of ~goldseven 's tutorials.
For the collar: In fact it is meant that the collar narrows to the collarbone and the visor covers it. It's not that clear visible because of some shading and scaling failures. But in the end - it's fantasy. It doesn't have to work correctly. If you ever played a fantasy video game you know what I mean ;)

Thank you very much for your nice comment. It was always a fight with myself to set the details in. I was afraid with every stroke if it was too much or wrong turned or or or... but except for a small part of the upper helmet I'm very pleased with it. :)

Really love this piece.

Not only is the armour very unique, but the hair that shoots out behind, like a braided mohawk mane, really pulls together the aspects of this work that draw me in personally. Overall an excellent character design, combined with the scaly metals. Very artistic and almost elven in appearance, but with just enough of a tinge of sturdy brutality- the armour that is. ;P
