Description

(The story behind: )

In the night:

His figure was illumated with a yellowish light, the flames of the burning tents in the background swirled around him. It looked as if he had yellowish flaming wings stretching from his back and his mask seemed to glow. Not roaring but with the usual loud voice he said the inevitable : " Arken ..... my friend ... it is now , our proudest hour. We will never get closer to the Erbauer in life. We will finally end... what we left in Stratholme undone. "

Three times he slammed the scythe on the stone until all Kathul noticed him. Then he shouted with a thundering voice and the flaming around seemed to fire up with e bursting sound.

"To me, children of the Erbauer! FOR THE LIVING WE WITHSTAND!"

Then he almost jumped forward, the Kathul parted hastily but in awe when he stormed out of the camp to the undead. The dead bodies were at attack, but where they scented intimidated Kathul as an easy prey they were taught better in collisions. The concentrated retribution in the form of a human Paladin of the old ways tore a fierce gaps in the front of the seemingly endless stream of walking deads. Breathless Arken watched his friend when he was enveloped in darkness fighting off the mass of undead and Arken finally realized that he had followed him on foot. He also cried Tagros' last battle cry and he heard it repeated a hundred times by roaring Vas Kathul and all the Kathul and Es Kathul behind and beside them. His steps sent sparks flying out of the muddy ground, he recited the old verses and prayers as he had learned it long ago and only wanted to use them in dire need. He felt the light that enveloping him, strengthening him and giving him courage. The first undead he met with shield and sword was pulverized and he did not stop - like his Kathul and the whole Order. With almost inhuman force the army of the Living slammed against the army of the Undead and for a moment even the shadows gave way to in fear.

The sky of a beautiful morning rose in the Western Plaguelands. High above in the air, away from the action of the battle, first crows sailed in a circle around the spectacle below them. In the eyes of the black birds a white spot was reflected, that fought on bravely and united against the black croud surrounding them. But the black crowd tightened slowly around the white one and finally crushed it - slowly but surely until only remained black.

This was the signal for the crows. Their feast was prepared.

So again I had to do a picture for an only written scene, depicting the last stand of our warcraft guild - The Orden des Erbauers (Order of the Builder). Arken and Tagros, the paladins in the middle, together with the last Kathul (normal foot soldiers of the Order), surrounded by the Undead and with no way out. It was such a moving text that I had to draw this somehow and maybe I will even manage to color it or stick to black/white - I don't know yet. The text was written by Arkens and Tagros' players. For some of the characters it is really their death, for some we don't know what happened to them yet, but I can assure you that it is not easy to lay down an Order that was played for more than 5 years constantly.

BUT! Yes, that's a but, because we don't stop playing but still go on. The surviving members formed a new Order yesterday on the ashes of the old one and believe me I had goosebumbs from head to toe with ceremony.

So as usual:
World of Warcraft, the setting, the scourge, the Paladin t2-Armour Design, the Stratholme incident and all those more or less little things around all this belong to Blizzard Entertainment.
The characters and their stories belong to the players themselves.

Lineart done in my scetchbook with about 20 hours from scetch.

About 12 hours for finishing with a 0.1 ink pen in my scetchbook.

Mature content for violence.

You know the copyright stuff: WoW, warcraft, Paladin Tier 2 Armour Design etc. belongs to Blizzard, as usual :)

Love to come back here now and then and loose me in the Details - Today it's your breathtaking take on the Tier 2 Armour. It looks like something you would like to wear to a war, not to a cosplay-contest <3
